Data flows

TData flows module is a powerful visual tool that provides users with the ability to transform the raw data acquired from the sensor into information that is ready for exploitation using flow composition.

One of the most important functionalities consists of the possibility of executing simple or complex scripts, offering users the power to transform the data according to their needs.

It also allows variables to be combined with the aim of obtaining new variables derived from the originals.

The Data Flows can be accessed in two different ways:

  • Through the asset creation/editing Wizard, (“Data Flows” option within the Wizard, available soon):

  • Through the option “Data Flows” (letf-side bar):

What is a data flow?

Through data flows it is possible to create dynamic properties, which allow you to connect the data obtained from your data sources with your assets. This allows you to control the actual data of your assets and have it available in your digital twin and dashboards.

Two dynamic properties types can be created from the data flows of an asset:

  • Direct: This type of properties are created directly from a data feed and without the need for any operation, allowing the measurements obtained from the data source to reach the asset directly.

  • Complex: They are the result of applying operations or algorithms on one or several data feeds and/or properties to calculate more complex data and not a simple measurement.

Asset list

When you enter the Data Flow section, the first thing you will find is a list of all the assets that have been created from the Assets inventory

In each asset that appears in the list, we can see its name next to an icon corresponding to its asset type ( e.g. if it is an area, a plant, an electric motor, a turbine, etc.).

The rest of the columns of the list contain the information on the draft, the published version, and the previous versions.

In the following sections, you will find:
