Create a direct property

Direct dynamic properties are the easiest way to link the measurements that arrive to the platform through feeds with the asset to which they correspond, so that they are available to be displayed in the asset's dashboards using graphs and data history, as well as to create alarms to alert us of anomalous performance in the asset.

To create a direct dynamic property of an asset, you must first access the "Data Flows" section and create a draft or enter the draft created in the asset you want.

If the asset doesn't have a draft created yet, click on the "+ Create" button.

If the asset has a draft, click on the pencil icon to access the draft.

Once inside the draft, click on "+ New data flow".

This will open a window to select the type of dynamic property to create. By default "Dynamic Properties" is selected, leave it as it is and click "Next":

A window will be displayed with the list of feeds from which you can create your direct properties. The name of the data source from which the feed is obtained is shown in gray below the name of each feed:

By default all feeds are shown, but you can filter them by data source:

You can also use the search bar, which performs the search by taking into account both the name of the feeds and their data source:

Select the feeds you need. By default the "Create associated properties" option is selected, which will directly create the dynamic properties from the selected feeds.

Clicking on "Next" will take you back to the asset's data flows window, where you can find in the "Direct Properties" group what you have added:

  • In the INPUTS column the feeds you have selected will appear (feeds will always be shown in blue).

  • In the OUTPUTS column the direct properties that have been created automatically (as long as you keep the "Create associated properties" option active in the previous step). By default they will have the same name as the feed and are shown in green.

IMPORTANT: To be able to make use of the properties you have created or modified, you must make sure to publish the draft you are working on.
