This option is only available for those users with permission granted to create/edit assets.
If you want to create an asset that is an exact copy of another already existing, you can Duplicate this asset.
To access this feature, select the asset you want to duplicate, open the contextual menu by clicking on the three points, and select the “Duplicate” option:
After selecting the Duplicate option, the asset Wizard will open to allow the confirmation/modification of the options you may wish:
The clicking of “Next” will carry you through the next steps of the wizard, and by clicking “Cancel” you can discard any change and cancel the whole process.
After selecting the type of asset, next step is to configure the asset properties.
When duplicating an asset, all properties except the name are copied to the new asset, since there can be no assets with the same name. So you have to give it a new and unique name.
The asset can be now saved or you can check the rest of the info to change some attribute of the asset.
When clicking on “Save asset“ the wizard will ask you if you want to create another asset from scratch or create another asset from the copy created:
If you don’t want to create any other asset, click on “Continue“ or on the “X” on the upper-right side to close the wizard.
After everything is saved and the wizard is closed, the new asset will appear in the asset tree at the same level of the original asset:
