This option is only available for those users with permission granted to create/edit/delete data sources.

To create a new data source, click on the button

A wizard to configure the info associated with that data source will start.

Data Source

The first step into the Wizard is the selection of data source type:

There are three data source types:

  • Test.

  • Test-Modbus.

  • Datom.

The next step is to configure the information of your data source (the info is the same for all types of devices):

  • Basic Information: Name, Model, and Serial Number.

  • Connection Data.

  • Deployment.

Configure your Data Source

Basic Information

The basic information for a data source is composed of Name (mandatory), Model (optional), and Serial Number (optional).

Connection Data

This information helps the platform to get connected to the data source and retrieve the device’s data.

The connection data are:

  • Id: A string that identifies the device in the system.

  • Credentials

    • User: User to get connected to the device.

    • Password: Password to get connected to the device.

  • Connection

    • Insecure: By default the connection is made using HTTPS, check this box if you don’t want to use HTTPS.

    • Host: IP address of the device to be connected.

    • MaxRequest: Maximum number of requests. By default is 50.

When all the data are filled, the button “Deploy” will be enabled and the data source will be ready to be deployed and communicate with the platform.

Click on “Return to connectivity list” to go back to the Connectivity screen. In the connectivity devices you will see the data source created:

  • No labels
